About me

Kobolt is a small but capable graphic design agency – personified by me, Johan Siebke – based in Haywards Heath, West Sussex. 

This has been my beat since 1999, although clients are both local and far-flung. During these years I have worked as a designer for Virgin Atlantic (1998–2001) and as self-employed (Siebke Design). 

In 2008 I set up Woodhouse Creative together with Paul Lawson and we successfully ran this agency for 10 years until we recently closed it down as Paul decided to [mostly] retire, and I continue as kobolt.

Kobolt is a resurrection of Siebke Design, now with a shorter and sweeter brand name ("Siebke Design" is neither catchy nor easy to say!). 

When not designing for clients I practise image making with my camera, Photoshop and Illustrator. Select images are and will be uploaded to Alamy stock image library (read more here).

I also practise guitar but with a more questionable result. I am still trying to figure out whether I'm left or right-handed; my pen says left-handed and my guitar right-handed. The confusion unfortunately leaves me somewhat technically challenged on this otherwise wonderful instrument. Another hobby is drinking real ales. That I can do with both hands.

Clients of all sizes are welcome – and for those smaller set-ups with limited budgets: I am not VAT registered, which will save you 20% if the same goes for you.
